Tips to try at home!
Want to add some positive DRAMA skills to your child's repertoire? Try these activities at home:
1) Read a book together and try different voices for the characters. You can each read the words that your character says and express them in a funny voice! For younger students, you read what the character says first and the child repeats it back in their own character voice.
2) Put it on it's feet! You can get up and act out the story together OR you can be the narrator and tell the story while your child (or your child and their friends, stuffed animals, or siblings) act the story out. You can even add basic costumes like a hat or a scarf to make the characters come to life. Want to be REALLY ambitious? Ask someone else to be the audience and present your story as a play. Don't forget to take a bow at the end!!
